Hunter v. Hunter
Mom, surrenders children to paternal aunt/uncle during time of drug abuse and domestic violence. Aunt/Uncle granted guardianship. Mom stabilizes her life and establishes visitation with children. Third parties (aunt/uncle) sue for custody of children and mom counter-sues for custody. Trial and Appellate courts find mother unfit and award custody to third party. Mom appeals to Michigan Supreme Court.
