*Northern Prescription Discount Plan (NPDP) The Northern Prescription Discount Plan (NPDP) card is a way for people without prescription coverage to purchase prescription drugs at lower prices at their pharmacy. The NPDP card is available to any resident of Antrim, Charlevoix, Emmet or Otsego counties who does not have other drug coverage. Savings on medications will typically be between 5 and 25 percent. *Rx Outreach 1-800-769-3880 Rx Outreach is a new Patient Assistance Program developed by Express Scripts Specialty Distribution Services, Inc. (ESSDS). The program provides qualified low-income individuals and families access to generic versions of brand name medications. Rx Outreach combines the best of pharmaceutical access efforts: it is available to anyone with an income under 250% of the Federal Poverty Level (e.g., $23,275/single person and $31,225/couple) provides 35 generic drugs useful for many chronic conditions, and is very affordable. These patients often earn too much to qualify for Medicaid, but cannot afford health insurance for themselves or their families. Furthermore, many low-income elderly people cannot get the medicines they need through Medicare or state programs. Through Sharing the Care, eligible patients are able to obtain most of Pfizer's state-of-the-art prescription medicines free-of-charge directly and immediately from the community, migrant or homeless health center that already provides their care.
