The Effect of a Reduced Federal Commitment to Low Income Rental Housing, and Some Reason for Hope for the Future

A recently released report from the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities details the harms caused by a diminished federal commitment to low income housing programs, and suggests some remedies for the problem (see Decade of Neglect Has Weakened Federal Low-Income Housing Programs New Resources Required to Meet Growing Needs).  The Administration’s recently announced FY 2010 HUD budget is an encouraging first step for repairing a decade of harm http://www.hud.gov/content/releases/pr09-015.pdf.
