Legal Services of South Central Michigan (LSSCM) has an opening for a staff attorney in the Lansing office.  The Lansing office serves Ingham, Eaton, Clinton, Livingston, and Shiawassee counties.

LSSCM provides free legal services to very low income and older adults in 13 counties in south-central Michigan. LSSCM is a project of the Michigan Advocacy Program (MAP) which also provides statewide legal services to migrant and seasonal agricultural workers through its Farmworker Legal Services office.  MAP has a full time staff of about 60 people in six offices.

The staff attorney will do service and impact work as a generalist, including family, consumer, public benefits and housing law.

Applicants should be licensed to practice law in Michigan and should demonstrate a commitment to the low income community.  Salary is from $41,000, depending on experience. Unionized program; excellent fringe benefits.
