Staff Attorney - Lakeshore Legal Aid - Southwest Detroit Office

Lakeshore Legal Aid (Lakeshore) is a non-profit legal aid program that provides free legal services in Southeast Michigan. Lakeshore has an immediate opening in its Southwest Detroit office to provide civil legal aid to domestic violence survivors primarily in the areas of family and immigration law. Lakeshore seeks an attorney with excellent oral and written communication skills and a commitment to providing high quality legal services for under-documented or un-documented domestic violence survivors in poverty. The successful candidate must be licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan or eligible to practice law under MCR 8.120. Experience in immigration law, particularly VAWA Self-Petitions and U-Visas and/or fluency in Spanish highly preferred. Compensation is competitive with other legal aid programs, and commensurate with experience.
