Organization Overview:
Lakeshore Legal Aid serves low-income people, seniors, and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in a holistic manner to address clients’ legal issues and improve our communities. Lakeshore provides free direct legal representation in southeast Michigan and the thumb and client intake, advice, and brief legal services throughout Michigan via our attorney-staffed hotline. Our practice areas include housing, family, consumer, elder, education, and public benefits law.
Position Overview:
Lakeshore is seeking a dedicated Data Analyst who will use data to understand our organization and our community to increase the depth and quality of Lakeshore’s work. The Data Analyst will work closely with all aspects of the organization and will treat clients, coworkers, and others with dignity and respect.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and recommend process improvements.
- Collect structured and unstructured data from Information Systems and external sources.
- Ensure compliance with funding requirements.
- Work closely with staff to verify data accuracy and completeness.
- Assess and ensure quality of data.
- Research and support implementation of software, databases, and other technologies to support executive and project teams.
- Understand the impact of bias on data collection and analysis.
- Create reports and presentations to further explain data.
- Create document templates to automatically populate commonly used case documents with existing data.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Job Requirements:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited school in Social Sciences, Business, related field, or Juris Doctor preferred.
- Experience analyzing data.
- Demonstrated commitment to the public interest.
- Strong writing and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through.
- Ability to organize, plan, prioritize, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
- Experience working in a non-profit legal setting preferred.
- Experience or aptitude in working with appropriate office technology, including telephone systems, word processing, report generation software, internet research, client database, etc.
- Experience with Salesforce highly preferred.
- Strong proactive and creative problem-solving skills.
- A passion for data collection and analysis to advance Lakeshore’s mission.
Salary
Starting salary ranges from $55,500 to $76,500 and is commensurate with qualifications. Position includes excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance/AD&D, short-term disability, long-term disability, retirement plan, and paid time off (PTO).
