Part Time Advocate - Lakeshore Legal Aid - Southwest Detroit Office

Lakeshore Legal Aid (Lakeshore) is a non-profit legal aid program that provides free legal services in Southeast Michigan. Lakeshore has an immediate opening in its Southwest Detroit office for a part-time, non-attorney advocate.

Duties: Help domestic violence survivors gather relevant paperwork for the preparation of immigration petitions for VAWAs and U-VISAs, provide crisis intervention and assist clients eliminate practical barriers to self-sufficiency, such as transportation, housing or obtaining childcare.

Qualifications: Ability to Speak Spanish required. Understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and/or experience with immigration law preferred. Lakeshore Legal Aid is an equal opportunity employer.
