Full Time Accounts Payable/Financial Assistant Position - Michigan Advocacy Program (MAP) - Ypsilanti, MI

POSITION: Michigan Advocacy Program (MAP) is seeking applicants for a Financial Administrator in our Central Administrative office in Ypsilanti.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The position will be primarily responsible for accounts payable. Other responsibilities will include: cash receipts and account receivable, time records, audit support, general ledger review, and other duties to support MAP’s programs.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be skilled in the use of Microsoft programs, particularly Excel, and be comfortable using technology in general. Applicants must possess excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, have excellent attention to detail, great time management skills, and an ability to prioritize and work independently. Applicants should have a minimum 2 year degree. A major in Accounting or Business Management is preferred. Applicants should have accounting software experience; Peachtree a plus, but not required.

Additionally, any desk top support or IT experience a plus but not required.

BENEFITS: This is a full-time position with excellent leave time and fringe benefits. Annual salary is determined based on experience, starting at $38,000.

DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM: MAP is a non-profit law firm providing free legal services to very low income families and individuals in 13 counties in south central Michigan; MAP also administers several statewide subject-area advocacy programs. Central Administration handles the administrative functions for the 5 statewide and 6 local direct service offices. All personnel support, budgeting, fund development, payroll, bill paying, grant reporting and cash receipts are done from Central Administration. Learn more at https://miadvocacy.org/
