Document Actions

Michigan Advocacy Program has open Staff Attorney positions with our Crime Victims Legal Assistance Project focused on domestic violence and elder abuse.

Michigan Advocacy Program (MAP) provides access to the justice system for those who need it the most through its local legal services offices, Legal Services of South Central Michigan and Farmworker Legal Services, as well several statewide advocacy programs: Michigan Poverty Law Program, the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center, the Michigan Elder Justice Initiative, and the Michigan Legal Help Program. This program is a statewide program with positions throughout Michigan including Ann Arbor, Alpena, Battle Creek, Escanaba, Detroit, Gaylord, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Monroe, Muskegon, Southfield, Traverse City, and Warren.

MAP has partnered with Legal Services of Eastern Michigan, Legal Aid of Western Michigan, Legal Services of South Central Michigan, Legal Services of Northern Michigan, and Lakeshore Legal Aid to provide outreach and a wide range of legal representation and advocacy to victims of crime, primarily domestic violence and elder abuse survivors, under the federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA)

The CVLAP attorneys will be jointly supervised by managing/supervising attorneys at their local legal aid office and a Supervising CVLAP Attorney. In addition, the attorneys will be supported by statewide experts in family law and elder abuse.

Applicants should be licensed to practice law in Michigan or be eligible to waive in or to take the next Michigan bar examination. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to under-served populations -- experience with domestic violence and/or elder abuse is ideal. Salary starts at $41,000+ for new attorneys;

Salary for experienced attorneys will depend on experience. Includes excellent benefits.

MAP is an equal opportunity employer.  We encourage minorities, women and persons with disabilities to apply.
