What's Happening?

Food Assistance Program customers who do not meet the above work requirements but arein a work-related activity may receive up to $50 per month FAPEmployment and Training Reimbursement to cover transportation, workclothing (includes a clothing allowance), license and bonding feesrequired for employment, personal safety items, books, training manuals, tools and other necessary work-related equipment. This includesFAP customers who are in an FIA-approved education plan.

Most legal aid and legal services offices handle these types of cases, and they do not charge a fee. You can locate the "free" legal services or legal aid office that serves your county on the Michigan LawHelp web site (http://MI.LawHelp.org) or look in the yellow pages under "attorneys" or call the toll-free lawyer referral number, (800) 968-0738.
