CORT First Friday Webinar: Empowering Immigrant Families: Updates on Public Charge & Public Benefits for Legal Services

616

Description

In this webinar, we will address how changing immigration policies are scaring immigrant families, including U.S. citizen children, away from accessing desperately needed public assistance. We'll discuss how legal services providers can counsel eligible clients on continuing to safely access public benefits, and work with community partners, to combat the growing chilling effect in a broad range of immigrant communities.

Anna Hill and Marie Nelson, staff attorneys at the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center, will serve as our presenters. Marie and Anna have been helping to lead Michigan's Protecting Immigrant Families Campaign against the changes the public charge.
