CORT Custody Litigation Institute

603

Description

Join practitioners and experts from around the country for this in-person, two-day intensive and interactive institute. The training is presented by a team of seasoned litigators, led by attorneys with the ABA’s Commission on Domestic & Sexual Violence. This event is designed to prepare both new and seasoned attorneys to more effectively and holistically represent survivors of domestic and sexual violence in civil legal matters, with a focus on custody cases. Faculty experts will work with participants in a variety of practical exercises, roleplays, facilitated discussions, and demonstrations.

The ABA Commission on Domestic & Sexual Violence has presented this training in several cities around the country in the last few years. CORT is very happy to be able to host this event in our region, exclusively for lawyers from CORT-member programs. In the event of over-subscription, priority will be given to lawyers from programs receiving DOJ Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) VAWA funding. Further, as with other CORT events, the organizers will assure that each CORT state has access to a “fair share” of slots for this training.

For more information and documents, see the training event on the CORT website.
