This CORT training will be held in Kalamazoo, Michigan-

Migrant farmworker legal services programs throughout the Midwest are collaborating to present a preseason farmworker law training targeted to new and seasonal staff who will be working with migrant and immigrant workers this summer. The training will be conducted by experienced attorneys and outreach workers from the migrant programs. The training is targeted to participants from any interested migrant program, as well as others who work with these issues. Emphasis will be on training new and seasonal staff to “issue spot” on a variety of issues affecting migrant and seasonal farmworkers, including agricultural employment, labor camp housing, health and safety, access to public benefits and services, and immigration issues. Specialized delivery issues particular to migrant legal service delivery, such as labor camp and community-based outreach, will also be featured.
